Your Free Giveaway


Years ago, long before I even knew that people were doing
business on the Internet, it was possible to get people to
sign up for your list without having to give them anything
in return. I only know this because I now have friends who
have been online for many years, and they tell stories of
how easy it was to build a list in those days. You could offer
a newsletter or email updates and people would readily
give you their name and email address.


That has changed significantly as we have all become more
inundated with email. Now you must offer your new
prospects something they feel will make a difference in
what they are hoping to achieve.


Your free giveaway, also referred to as an ethical bribe,
should be short and to the point. I prefer to create a short
report on the topic that ends up being about 7 to 10 pages
in length. These days I do almost all of my own writing for
these reports, but I sometimes add an article or two written
by someone I am talking about in my report. This helps me
to introduce them to my target audience if I will be
recommending one of their products or courses through an
affiliate link in the future.
