As a narrator he contributed for some


time to the review Botteghe Oscure, edited by


Giorgio Bassani, and, immediately after


W.W. II, to the Sardinian review Riscossa.


His poems in the Sardinian dialect were


regarded “stimulating reading” by Pier


Paolo Pasolini, who considered a small


masterpiece the poem “Ammentos de istìu”


[Summer Memories], published by the


writer Salvatore Cambosu in the Sardinian


review S’ischiglia. His poetry attracted the


interest of Giuseppe Dessì and Oreste Macrì,


and later of Gianfranco Folena from the


University of Padua, who is responsible for


publishing some of them in the 2nd volume


of the anthology of dialect poets Le parole di


legno [Wooden Words] (Mondadori, Milan


1984). His poem “Chelos de attunzu”
