Dialect Poetry of Southern Italy (Italian Poetry in Translation Book 2)

(Marcin) #1
Nothing

Neither fire nor bed nor bread
nor breath from a mouth
nor rhyme from a song
nor the warmth of a heart.
Nothing.
─ And you? and you? and him?
Nothing.
World in ruins.
The eyes, bewildered,
are dry.
