thematic operation, among the younger
poets, seems to be Stefano Marino from
Reggio Calabria, who has provided too few
samples to allow more than just a mention.
But it is obvious that, through these means,
even Calabrian dialect poetry has freed itself
from the fetters of mimetism, of folklore and
facile, party-oriented sociology, to join the
most advanced experiments of national
dialect poetry, in order to realize that
discovery of identity that inspires every true
poet.
