summit of K2 in his
sights, Nims wills his
oxygen-starved body
upward. He and nine
fellow Nepalis endured
unpredictable winds,
subzero temperatures,
and numerous deadly
hazards to climb the
infamous peak at a
time when conditions
were at their harshest.
It was a feat many
had thought couldn’t
be achieved. Nims
increased the difficulty
by climbing without
bottled oxygen.
