andmindofman,whatlanguagecanadequatelyex-
pressthefeelingsthatenrapture him? Wherealone
canmanturnforwordssuitabletovoicehisemotions
whenthesightsoftheskiesthrilltheimagination,stir
theconscience,andawakentheheart? Onlythelan-
guageofinspiration cancover allthe range ofthe
feelings; only the words of Scripture can flux the
thoughts, andmakethemflowunimpeded,absolutely
free,throughthegreatchannelsofthesoul.
Itisatsuchtimesthatoneturnswithgladness,with
rapture, toquote the wordsgiven by inspiration of
God. Itisthenthatthedevoutastronomerexclaims,
"When I consider Thy heavens, the work of Thy
fingers,themoonandthestars,whichThouhastor-
dained;whatisman,thatThouartmindfulofhim?
andthesonofman,thatThouvisitesthim?"
ThisistruebecauseeverywordofGodispure,and
unlimitedinthefullnessofitsmeaning. WhenGod's
Wordspeaks infacts ofnature,itdoesnotglimpse
justafewofthefacts,aswouldbethecaseifdepend-
entuponapartial knowledge;buttheSpiritofGod,
whenitmentionsthegreatthingsofGod,hasinfull
vieweveryfactofGod'suniversethatis involvedin
thestatement,anditspeaksinlanguagelargeenough,
grandenough, thatno future discoveries orages of
studycanpossiblymake itinanysenseoutofdate.
Beforemen sweptthe heavens withgigantic tele-
scopes, theSpirit of Godread everything inallthe
vastoceanoftheuniverse. Telescopeswillneverpeer
beyond its unmeasured scrutiny. Eye of man will
