them''shines." A newwordwasthusaddedto the
language. Butintime,men forgot,perhaps,theold
ideaintheverse,andthoughtofthewordas mean-
ingmerelyadwellingplace. Yettheideaofacover-
ing,orcoveredplace,wasnotanessentialpartofthe
word.
Now,doyouseetheappropriatenessofthisword?
Intheheavens"hathHesetatabernacle." Theheav-
ensarenotinthetabernacle,butthetabernacleisset
intheheavens. ButintheheavenshasHesetadwell-
ingplace; ashiningdwellingplace;a dwellingplace
conspicuousfromadistance,asthewhitetentsonthe
plain;adwellingplace forthesun. Inotherwords,
theCreatorhasordainedthatthesunshalldwellinthe
heavens, and the shining of its fiery ball makes its
dwelling place conspicuous from a distance. If the
tabernaclewasfirstsocalledfromthefactthatitwas
conspicuousfromadistance,shininginthelightofthe
sun,shallnottheabidingplaceofthesunitselfbeso
called? It shines; it is conspicuous; ten thousand
worldslookforthtoseeitsshiningplaceintheheav-
ens. "InthemhathHesetatabernacleforthesun."
Butthesunisonlyoneofthestars. Ifthesunis
inmotion,arenotthestarsalsoinmotion? Theyare
inmotion. Ithasbeenbutafewyearssinceastrono-
mers knewthisdefinitely,butithas stoodonrecord
intheBibleforhundredsofyears.
"Lift up your eyes on high, and see who hath
createdthese,thatbringethouttheirhostbynumber."
