ThisisGod'sinvitationtothestudyofastronomy.
Every one should studythisscience. It isthemost
delightfulandthemostinspiringofallthesciences. It
elevatesandbroadensthemind. Itrousesanddirects
theimagination. Itgives man atruer idea bothof
himselfand ofhisCreator. And ina betterunder-
standingofGod,sciencefindsitstrueservice.
When we findthat the stars are unmeasured dis-
tancesfrom us,andthattheyareinnumerable,span-
gUng the heavens with jets of radiance infinite in
number,weareinbetterconditionofmindtorealize
thegloryofHimwhobrings"outtheirhostbynum-
ber," calling"them allbynames."
Andviewingtheireternalconstancy, astheymove
undeviatinglyintheirorbits,weshallperceivebackof
