the heavens discovered by astronomers, that in any
sense suggestsa fitness to be the dwelHng place of
Deity? Weanswerthat there is one,and onlyone,
whichatallmeetstheconditions,andthisisthecon-
stellationOrion.
TheastronomerGarrettP.Servissoneeveningwas
watching with a friend the matchless spectacle of
Orionadvancingtothemeridian,whenhiscompanion
suddenlyturnedtohimandremarked:
"Isthere not somevastmystery concealed in that
part ofthe heavens? Tome, atleast, itseems so;
forIcannevershakeofftheimpressionthatthecrea-
tivepowerwhichmadetheuniverselavisheditsrichest
giftsuponthelocalityinandsurroundingOrion."
