Minwir Al-Shammari is a professor of operations management and technology in the
Department of Management and Marketing in the College of Business Administration
at the University of Bahrain. Professor Al-Shammari earned his PhD in industrial
management from the University of Glasgow, UK (1990). He has been involved in
teaching, research, training, and consultancy in the areas of knowledge management,
operations and information management, business process reengineering (BPR), deci-
sion making with computers, project evaluation and management, management science,
and research methodology. He is a member of several national, regional, and international
professional associations. He has received a number of research awards. Professor Al-
Shammari has authored/coauthored more than 25 research papers and served as a
reviewer for several regional and international research journals. His publications have
appeared in such refereed international publications as Logistics Information Manage-
ment, International Journal of Information Management, Knowledge Management
Research and Practice, European Journal of Operational Research, Expert Systems
with Applications: International Journals, Journal of Computer Information Systems,
International Journal of Operations and Production Management, Production and
Inventory Management Journal, International Journal of Commerce and Management,
International Journal of Computer Applications in Technology, Cross-Cultural Man-
agement, International Journal of Management, Leadership and Organization Devel-
opment Journal, and Creativity and Innovation Management.
Yogesh Anand joined the Reserve Bank in April 2000 as chief information officer of
knowledge services. Prior to this, he was information systems manager with the New
Zealand Health Information Service for four years. In that role, he developed and
implemented an e-business vision and strategy for the health sector in New Zealand. This
resulted in the implementation of a sophisticated, secure, and user-friendly communica-
tions infrastructure for the health industry. His focus during that time was to work with
the health sector to develop an information culture that would improve health care
delivery in New Zealand. Between 1990 and 1996, Yogesh was project director at the New
Zealand Dairy Board. He has also held positions at Databank in Wellington, Royal Globe
Insurance in New York, Royal Saudi Naval Forces in Saudi Arabia, and Westpac in
Wellington. Yogesh was a finalist in Computerworld IS Manager of the Year, 1999.
Teresa R. Bailey has been a Jet Propulsion Lab (JPL) technical librarian for more than
22 years. In addition to performing typical library functions such as cataloging and
reference work, she is the program development coordinator for the Library, Archives,
and Records Section, which allows her to use her creative and leadership talents in
activities that include networking, marketing, outreach, and community building. She has
an MLS from the University of Southern California and is currently a doctoral student
at the Fielding Institute where she is researching the contribution of storytelling to
organizational learning and knowledge sharing.
Rajeev K. Bali currently lectures and conducts research at Coventry University, UK. He
is an invited contributor and reviewer for various international journals and conferences.
His involvement with the IEEE resulted in an appointment as publications chair for the
