SUGGESTIONS FOR ALZHEIMER’S DISEASE*


➤ Thyroid. Look for Thytrophin (made by Standard Process) or
a synthetic supplement that contains T3 as well as T4. (See
Resources.)
➤ Progesterone. Use a natural topical cream. Follow the
directions on the label. Go off it periodically for one week.
➤ CoQ-10 (150 mg/day). Choose Ubiquinol, the active form.
➤ Acetyl-L-carnitine (500 to 1,500 mg/day).
➤ NADH (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) (5 to 10 mg/
day). NADH (the H stands for hydrogen), found in the muscle
tissue of poultry and cattle, relieves Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s,
chronic fatigue, and depression.
➤ High-intensity light. Spend one-half hour to one hour every
morning in high-intensity light to restore the mitochondria’s
ability to manufacture energy.
➤ B-complex capsule. Take a B complex three times daily to
reduce homocysteine levels. Excess homocysteine turns into
acid waste and destroys brain cells. According to Robert Clark,
M.D., of Oxford University, people with low blood levels of
folic acid, B 12 , and B 6 have the highest levels of homocysteine
and are three to four times more likely to develop Alzheimer’s
disease.
➤ Vitamin C (1,000 mg/day).
➤ Omega-3 fats and oils. Omega-3, found in saltwater fi sh and
green, leafy vegetables, has an anti-infl ammatory effect that
helps offset the infl ammatory effect of omega-6
polyunsaturated oils.
➤ Removal of silver/mercury dental amalgams has been
known to stop the progression of Alzheimer’s, but the removal
must be done according to the system devised by Hal Huggins,
D.D.S.^22
