GETTING STARTED
How you fi t decrees into your schedule and how long your decree session lasts
is up to you. Depending on the time you have available, your decree session can
be as short as a few minutes or as long as you wish.
You may choose to decree in a quiet setting before your altar, or you may
decree as you go about your day—for example, getting ready for school or work,
doing chores, driving on the highway or in town, even taking a shower.
At least some time each day, try to decree in a quiet place without interrup-
tion. This will allow your mind and heart to focus on God.
Spoken decrees are more effective than silent ones, but if you are in a public
place or a circumstance where you can’t decree aloud, then repeat the prayers in
your mind or whisper them. Through your heart’s devotion you are still making
contact with the angels, ascended masters and your Higher Self to bring about the
change you seek.
Before you begin to decree, start with a prayer, or invocation, naming the
situation where you want to direct the light-energy you invoke. Perhaps you want
to comfort a friend or family member, or you need help fi nishing a work or school
assignment. Perhaps you are concerned about keeping drunk drivers off the road
or protecting our soldiers overseas.
Name the people and situations in your prayer and be sure to qualify it with
“according to God’s will.” By doing this you are turning the situation over to God,
asking for the highest good—God’s plan––in all circumstances.
STRUCTURING YOUR DECREE SESSION
It is entirely up to you which decrees, mantras and songs you choose for your
Spoken Word session. Most people start with a simple set of decrees that are easy
to give and enable them to connect with their heart chakra, the spiritual energy
center located in the center of their chest. An example is the “Heart, Head, and
Hand Decrees” (1.30) by El Morya.
As you become familiar with different decrees, you will get a sense of which
ones to use for certain actions—for example, invoking healing light, protection,
illumination, peace, love or brotherhood.
To help you get started, here is a list of some key decrees.
- TUBE OF LIGHT
The tube of light builds a foundation of spiritual energy. It establishes
a powerful connection with God, which is why this decree is given at the
beginning of decree sessions.
To call for this tube of protective light around you, give the “Violet Fire
and Tube of Light Decree” (0.01) or the short “Tube of Light” from the
“Heart, Head, and Hand Decrees.”
We always stand when giving the tube of light—in honor of the God
within us and to more fully visualize the light we are invoking. See yourself
standing in this tube of light, nine feet in diameter, as it descends from the
heart of your God Presence.*
