Glottal
A place of articulation that describes a sound produced with friction in the glottis (the
space between the vocal cords). The only phoneme in this group in English is /h/.
(The glottal stop is also pronounced in this area, but it’s not a separate phoneme.)
The sound is produced here, in the glottis.
