Pronounced without an extra pu" of air. In English, voiceless stops are unaspirated
when they come after /s/ at the beginnings of words (e.g. store)



  • Sounds that are pronounced with this pu" of air are called aspirated sounds.

  • Sounds that are pronounced without this pu" of air are called unaspirated
    sounds.
