New-gen Intel CPU, DDR5,
plus a hefty graphics card...
are you as excited as we are?
WELL, FOLKS, the time has finally come to put Intel’s latest
and greatest Alder Lake chip, the Core i9-12900k, into
a pretty impressive build. On the face of it, this isn’t the
craziest looking rig we have ever put together, but there is
serious power lurking beneath the chassis.
With this build, we are hoping to showcase some of the
latest introductions to the PC market. We bring in some
tasty new DDR5 RAM, Intel’s latest CPU offering, a hefty
Geforce RTX 3080, and one of the latest Z690 boards to
piece it all together. All this and more is going to make
its home in one of the largest cases we have seen in quite
a while—frankly, this makes an ITX build look like a
Gameboy in comparison.
As we carried out our build at the end of 2021, it’s a
great time to showcase a few of these new introductions.
Of course, the last quarter of 2021 brought us Windows 11,
which will be the chosen OS for this machine. Combined
with that funky new DDR5 and Intel’s latest Core i9-12900k
chip, it makes for cutting edge stuff.
While we are always excited to try the latest offerings,
it’s not all sunshine and lollipops. For a start, the cost
of a new chip, memory, and GPU will certainly leave a
gaping hole in your wallet. We know everyone wants the
latest tech but is it worth investing at the start of a new
generation of goodies, or is it better to wait a while for the
prices to drop? This build might help you to decide. So,
