[ 3 ] The angel’s conversation with the clergyman who had a faith that
was united to goodwill went like this:
“Friend, who are you?”
“I am a Reformed Christian.”
“What is your doctrinal point of view and your religion?”
“Faith and goodwill.”
“Those are twothings.”
“They can’t be separated.”
“What is faith?”
“Believing what the Word teaches.”
“What is goodwill?”
“Doing what the Word teaches.”
“Do you only believe that, or do you also practice it?”
“I also practice it.”
The angel from heaven then looked at the clergyman and said, “My
friend, come with me and live with us.”
