When capturing infrared images with an IR-sensitive digital SLR, the “fi lter factors” of the fi lters require
long exposures. This image was made with a Pentax K100D with a Singh-Ray I-Ray fi lter in front of the
lens and had an exposure of 0.7 second at f/9.5 and ISO 800. No matter how good you think you are, you
can’t handhold speeds that slow, which is why Joe used a Manfrotto (www.bogenimaging.com) tripod to make
