Having been an entrepreneur since the age of 14
I have had the privilege to come under the wing of a
number of mentors – various wizards who have taught
me the entrepreneurial skills of selling, marketing,
persistence, courage, motivation and many other
things that give one the character to enable one to do
whatever it is that one does.
One mentor that I want to talk about was an affable,
grey haired Irishman by the name of Seamus
O'Rourke, who taught me much of what I know. The
old boy had the gift of the gab and I'm sure he'd kissed
the Blarney Stone.
He had a wonderfully colourful way in which he used
the English language. He told me over and over again
that we are all ordinary people, but our mission is to do
extraordinary things. "Life is a do-it-yourself project,
and by golly, most people are really doing it to
themselves!" he'd say.
Seamus told me I could do whatever it was that I wanted to do.
He told me we all had the power within us to reach incredible
heights way beyond our wildest possible dreams. He'd say,
"If not you, who? If not not now, when?"
