02 42 00 Selective Demolition

1. Demolition of Lead Shielding: The material must be r emoved i ntact and sha ll not be damaged (torn, drilled,
   sanded or abraded). If t he lead i s not separabl e from the r egular construction waste, Health P rotection Office
   must be notified. Review the i nfor mation contained i n the Lead Safety Awareness training section of the

2. Demolition of Carpet: Carpet removed from spaces during remodeling shall be recycled if the manufacturer
   of fers that option.


3. Capital Management will be responsible for asbestos testing, by using Steve Henneberry at the University of
   Iowa Environmental Services (319- 335 -6477).
