i. All 24 volt wiring shall be installed by the TCC. This wiring shall be installed either in conduit or on
J hooks. In mechanical equipment rooms and in patient rooms, the use of conduit is required.
Routings shall be above corridor ceilings.
ii. All 120 volt wiring for temperature control work (such as to control panels and for terminal air box
controls) shall be installed by the TCC. This wiring shall be installed in conduit.

  1. Pneumatic air piping:
    a. Exposed locations: Hard copper tubing.
    b. Concealed inaccessible locations: Either hard or soft copper tubing.
    c. Concealed accessible locations: Copper tubing.
    d. Buried in concrete: Either hard or soft copper tubing.
    e. Inside control panels and enclosures: Polyethylene tubing.
    f. Penetrations thr ough fire and smok e barriers (walls and floors): Either hard or soft copper tubi ng.

  2. Areas requiring special control systems
    a. Isolation rooms shall have volume matching terminal air boxes on the supply and the return or exhaust for
that room. The current standard for control monitors on isolation rooms is the TSI model Pressura
RPM10. The TCC shall be specified to provide both monitoring a nd control of al l e xhaust fans f or isol ation
    rooms.
    b. Telecom rooms shall be designed with their own thermos tats which shall control a t ermina l ai r box, fan
coi l or o ther c ool ing device.

  3. Equipment which requires standardized control or monitoring systems.

a. Termina l Air Boxe s (TABs) shall be specified with a di scharge air sensor. The TCC shall be specified to
pr ovide the reheat c oil c ontrol v alve, the damper actuator , the transformer, the controller and the thermostat.
For each project, the spe cifications shall clearly identify which subcontractor is to provide the m ounting of
the actuators.
b. Fire/smoke dampe rs shall have end switches and actuators mounted by the damper manufacturer.
Connection of the si gnal f rom all fire/smok e da mpers to the fire al ar m system shall be by the TCC. Actuators
shall be 24 V. Wiring f or fi re/smoke da mpers shall be si milar to t hat shown on wiring diagram attached to
this document. Power t o the control system i tself s hall be by the TCC.
c. Chilled water coils at main air handlers shall have pr essure inde pendent Delta P control valves. The
tempe rature control system shall monitor entering water temperature, leaving water tempe rature, and valve
position.
d. All return and exha ust fans shall be monitored. Review with the Owner those locations whe re pressure
monitoring is also required.
e. VFDs shall be Toshiba or ABB. No other manuf acturers shall be all owed unless authorized by t he
Owne r. The Gene ral Contractor shall p rovide the VFD to better coordina te the VFD/cont rol system
compatibility.
f. HVAC circulating pumps shall be monitored and controlled. Monitoring by either circuit transformers or
differential pressur e switches a re acceptable.
g. Sewage ejectors shall be monitored for high level alarm a nd pump failure status.
h. Sump pumps shall be monitored for high level alarm and for pump status. Clearly specify which
subcontractor is to provide and install t he floa t switch.
i. Emergenc y gene rators sha ll be monitored for run status. This monitoring is separate from t he monitoring
pr ov ided by t he generator remot e pa nels.
