DARREN ROSE from Bedfordshire
is the winner of Round Two of APOY
- Darren can choose Sigma
products of up to £1,000 in value
(based on Sigma’s RRP) as his prize.
Particularly popular with landscape
photographers is the Sigma dp0
Quattro. One of four fi xed-lens
cameras in the Quattro range, its
ultra-wide optic is the full-frame
equivalent of 21mm, making it the
ideal tool for shooting both dramatic
landscapes and eye-catching
cityscapes. All four cameras in the
Quattro range retail at £899.99.

This image would have been
very easy to skim past, such is
its subtlety. However, when you
stop for a moment to give it your
full attention, there is much to
appreciate. The immaculate focus
point and aperture choice mean
the dew-laden blades of grass
are pin sharp, but we can still just
make out the background tree,
which gives the scene context and
helps to anchor the frame. A very
clever image that goes to show
you don’t have to visit the iconic,
honeypot locations to create an
arresting and evocative picture.
