bookings at the last minute, you could still
be saved by the HotelTonight app, which
can enable you to snaffle discounts even if you
book just a night, week or month before. The
app also lets you pay in a streamlined fashion
with Apple Pay.

YOU CATCH YOUR FLIGHT


It’s the stuff of nightmares for nomads: you book
a flight for what you reckon is just the right time,
only to find that... well, your own timing doesn’t
quite work out so right. However, on your
iPhone, it is possible to track your flight – and
you don’t need to download an app. The Travel



  • Leisure website explains how the built-in
    flight tracker works; to get started, open your
    Messages app. When you send or receive your
    flight number through the Messages app, the
    number will appear as an underlined link that
    you can tap before you select the subsequently-
    presented option to track the flight.


You will then see your flight details – including,
if the plane is airborne, how far it has progressed
in its journey or otherwise, whether the flight
remains on time. If the flight has been cancelled,
this information will also be imparted here. This
flight-tracking functionality is also available
on a Mac – except that obviously, you’ll need
to click rather than tap. Nonetheless, as you
