Belle Époque Three Piece Gilt Brass Clock Garniture
Late 19th Century
The ovoid form clock decorated with a repeating three leaf clover, sur-
mounted by a crown form cover housing the eight day movement, its
white enamel dial with cobalt blue Roman numerals and a subsidiary
Arabic numeral ring, the circular pedestal base cast with an egg and dart
border raised on four scroll and shell form feet; the pair of matching
crowned baluster form standards, with conforming shamrock leaf pattern,
issuing a center light above a lower tier of five scrolling lights.
Height of clock 20 inches (51 cm); height of garnitures 28 1/2 inches (72.5 cm)

border, over a leafy carved frieze centered by a flo-
ral arrangement in a basket, above a pair of shaped
and panel molded doors, inset beveled mirror panels
over roundels carved with eagles, opening to a bal-
ustraded gallery rail over a foliate apron, raised on
cabriole legs ending in scroll toes.

The standing figure of a winged cherub holding up a
horn volute form flambeau, fitted with a ring turned
candleholder, raised on a pedestal tripod base, cast
with leafy scroll volutes and rocaille scrolls joined by
fruit sprays, raised on padded feet.

enclosed by floral vine trailing, above a pair of

of two shaped shelves, above a pierced foliate apron
centered by an urn, raised on cabriole legs ending in
scrolled toes.
