Louis XV Style Chantilly Bisque Figure of A Hunter
The male figure modeled as a hunter, attired in a magnificent gilt and pastel
embroidered floral spray patterned suit, walking through a marshy patch of cat-
tails, grasping a dead bird in his left hand, his retriever by his side, raised on a cir-
cular base with vegetation, incised “MF” in cartouche.
Height 30 inches (76 cm)
The mate to this figure is in the collection of the Auburn, CA Museum.

The pair modeled as a French nobleman and his wife, both elegantly attired in
gilt embroidered evening garb, the male, wearing a tricorn hat, standing in front
of a tree trunk, the female wearing gloves and holding a crop, raised on a circular
base with gilt highlighted rocaille scrolls, incised “AL”.
