4. God Is In Need Of Nothing

SinceGodistheCreatorofnourishmentandothernecessitiesoflifeand
all things, we must agree that He has noneed of anyof these things.
God,therefore,istheentireTruthwhoisinneedofnothing.Unlikehu-
manbeings,Hedoesnotneedshelter,nourishment,andtheotherneces-
sities of life, rather all people and things are in need of Him.

Maybeyouwillnowask:“IfGodhasnobody,occupiesnospaceand
cannot be seen, then what is He and how can we say that He exists?”


Tounderstandthis,takethefollowingexample.Wecansaythatelec-
tricityisneithersolid,norliquid,norgas.Thesenegationsdonotdeny
theexistenceofelectricity,anditcouldneverbetruetosaythatbecause
electricityisnoneofthesethings,thereforeitdoesnotexist.Wehaveto
admit that electricity is a fact which is not describable by any of the
aforementioned conditions.


Now,whenwesaythatGod,theSelf-Sufficient,hasneitherbody,nor
place,nor canHebeseen,norisHeinneedofanything,wemeanthat
noneoftheseimperfectionscanbefoundintheperfect,unlimitedBeing
ofGod,whoisthesourceofallexistence.HeretherecanonlybePerfec-
tion and Self-Sufficiency.


ThesepropertiesdistinguishHisBeingfromotherbeings,andthisis
theGodinWhomwe mustbelieve.Intelligenceandhumannaturecan
acceptsuchaGod.Nowiseandhonestperson candenyHisexistence.
The supremacy andgloryof Islam canbe seen whenwe compare this
conceptwith thebeliefthatGodisonalevelwithman,havingabody,
children and other such attributes and appendages.


In fact, we might saythat many materialists rejectGod because the
trueGodhasnot beenmadeknown tothem,andwhat theyhavecon-
sidered is not the real God.
