5. God's Omniscience
The grandeur and mysteryof creationcannot be compared to a man-
mademachine.The infinitedetailsseen in livingbeingsandinanimate
objects indicate the unlimited knowledge of God. Let us examine the
following:
(a) Newton saidthat astudy of thecomponents ofthe ear andthe
eye would lead us to understand that the maker of the ear was thor-
oughlyacquaintedwiththelawsofacoustics,andthatthemakerofthe
eyewasthoroughlyacquaintedwiththelawsoflightandvision;astudy
oftheheavenlybodies,hesaid,wouldleadus tounderstandtheTruth
which governs the universe.
(b) Thephysiologyofthebatisfullofamazingthings.Inordertobe
abletofinditswayinthedarkwithoutflyingintoobstacles,theanimals
sendsoutultrasonicwavesinfrontofitselfratherlikeradar.Ifthereis
anobstacleintheway,thesoundwavesreachitandarereflectedback,
and thus the bat can steer clear of the obstacle.
(c) Althoughinsectsareverysmall,theyareverydelicateandwon-
derfulintheirstructure.Forexample,someofthem,insteadofeyeswith
onelens,havecompoundeyesmadeupofindividualvisualunitscalled
ommatids,everyoneofwhichhasthreeparts:acornea,alensandaret-
ina.Thenumberofommatidsvariesbetweeninsects.Glow-wormshave
about 2,500, butin otherstherecan be between 10,000and 28,000.Be-
causeinsectscannotrotatetheirheads,theycanbe permitted,bythese
compound eyes, to see things which happen beside them or behind
them.

folds of the mountains, of the rustling of even one leaf in the gentle
breeze,ofthedolefulcoooftheowlinthedeepestsilenceoftheforest,of
theflickeroftheglow-wormamongtheleaves,oftheinnumerablefish
withtheirinfinite coloursandvarietyinallthe watersof theworld,of
