The residence is situated at the foot of a

mountain, on a site difficult to access.

It has been built of local building materials

such as earth, stone, bamboo and wood,

mostly taken directly from the site. Eucalyp-

tus trunks, formerly used as lamp posts and

power poles in the city, have been recycled

as posts and beams.
