that are harvested to this day for the
versatile and therapeutic fruit. One of the
richest natural sources of Vitamin C,
amla is typically sold in Indian grocery
stores in dried form and cut into small
pieces. It may also be shredded or
whole, black in color, and shriveled. It
takes about two hours of soaking in hot
water to reconstitute dried amla. I often
soak a few pieces of amla, along with a
little turmeric and lemon juice, for about
10 minutes in a cup of extremely hot
water and drink it as a cleanser in the
morning before I eat or drink anything
