Tomato Chutney/Masala “Ketchup”

In India, even ketchup has a kick to it.
Masala ketchups are found at most
every eatery. This recipe is a fun take
on ketchup that you’ll enjoy with
everything from veggie burgers to
“eggs.” It starts as a tomato chutney,
and then I give it a whirl in my Vitamix
blender. This basic recipe was shared
with me by Mukta Gupta, who was a
close friend and cooking buddy during
my days as a graduate student at the
University of Hawaii and East-West
Center.
