Kuÿa (‘happy’)
The elder of the twin sons of Räma and
Sïtä, brought up by VÄLMÏKI, who taught
him to recite the RÄMÄYAŒA. He was made
king of Kuÿävatï, and later of Ayodhyä.

A variety of grass considered indispens-
able in many religious ceremonies.
Kuÿänas
A dynasty of rulers of Scythian descent
whose capital was MATHURÄ(first to
second centuries CE). The sculpture pro-
duced under their patronage has a cer-
tain heaviness.

hymns.
