will also learn to describe people’s physical appearances and personality traits. In
addition, you will see adjectives that describe specifi c groups of people, such as
friends, lovers, parents, children, students, teachers, and politicians.

Adjectives of nationality and origin serve to describe where a person is born.
Many adjectives describe a person’s origins based on the country that gives the
person his or her nationality. However, some adjectives indicate that the person is
from a certain continent, region, or city. Th e following adjectives describe the ori-
gins of a person based on the continent a person lives on.
