In this unit you will practice verbs involved with communicating about the topics
of science, medicine, and technology.

Discoveries in science allow scientifi c progress in not only biology and medicine
(e.g., antibiotics, vaccines) but also in technological fi elds (e.g., electric razors,
iPods). From the early 1900s when Marie Curie followed by Frédéric Joliot and
Irène Joliot-Curie won Nobel prizes in chemistry, to Claude Cohen-Tannoudji , a
recent Nobel prize winner in physics, France has nurtured the sciences. Here are
some frequently used verbs to discuss this topic.
