Où? (Where?)

Many adverbs tell us where something is, was, or will be done. Here are a few of these adverbs.

ailleurs elsewhere

dedans in it

dehors outside

au-dessous, dessous under it

au-dessus, dessus on it

ici here

là there

loin far

partout everywhere

quelque part somewhere

Tu ne vas pas le trouver là. You are not going to fi nd it there.

Tu as regardé dedans? Did you look inside?

Non, pas ici. No, not here.

Bon! Il faut regarder partout. Good! We have to look everywhere.

On le trouvera bien quelque part. We will end up fi nding it somewhere.

Où est le pull d’Alex? Where is Alex’s sweater? In the following paragraph, insert the

appropriate adverb from the list to give meaning to the passage.
