Trust is also the greatest competitive advantage. The most trusted or-
ganization will always get the extra treatment and capture the largest
market share. At all costs do not work with anybody on your team that
you do not trust. I have never regretted going separate ways with some-
body that I felt I could not trust. To do what’s right over what’s easy is
always recognizable, and has a huge impact. To be confidently believed
in with trust is the key to your team taking massive actions to achieve
the collective goals.

Expressing gratitude through appreciation and celebration. The #1 most
attractive trait is gratitude. We love to be around grateful people who
are genuine and authentic. Studies found gratitude as the most common
trait of those that are most happy. With a clear presence of appreciation
for your team, you will attract top achievers. A Gallup study showed
the number one reason you could lose top achievers or not attract top
achievers is not compensation, but rather its not feeling appreciated.
Top achievers that go above and beyond will have a tendency to grow
resentful if they are not getting the appreciation that their efforts de-
serve. Top achievers are also talent magnets. A great way to leverage
this and express gratitude is to have a reward program for recruiting.
Reward all team members who recruit additional team members. Birds
of a feather flock together. This is a valuable exercise on which to re-
ward handsomely; plus, a majority of potential new team members will
relate to someone working in the position considered versus a recruiter
or top level supervisor. Reward the hero of the week, have pizza parties,
and sit the team down to stop and appreciate efforts taken. Appreciation
also needs to be given when communicating. If you want to hire top
achievers and have them work on your team, you have to listen to them.
Be open to all ideas, regardless of position or title. Celebrating helps
create energy and momentum. People psychologically get hooked on
momentum, it is a feeling we love. You don’t ever want to be so busy
to not stop and make time to celebrate, avoid waiting to the end of the
quarter or the end of the year. Celebrate not only productivity achieve-
ments, but also quality control, efficiency, and team players. The most
impactful form of celebrating is celebrating a collective win that in-
