spend our money? Who is doing the dishes or taking the garbage out?
Who is picking up the children? How are we going to fix the broken
faucet? etc.
You and your spouse will agree for one week who is going to be doing
what, and by when, and how it will be accomplished. During that week
you and your spouse agree not to argue about those specific issues. If
someone is breaking the agreement, then the other spouse says in a non-
argumentative way and without getting into a fight something like, “Do
you remember you agreed to do...” then the same issue is brought back
to the next planning meeting and renegotiated again for the next week.
In closing, remember that what matters in turning around your marriage
is not what you are going to get from your spouse, but what you are go-
ing to give to satisfy your spouse’s subconscious needs or Drivers.
