Here’s a thought to keep you awake at night: once you retire, you have
amassed all of the wealth that you are ever going to have. Poof! Earning
game over. You are through earning and growing and must now rely on
whatever money you saved, or did not save, for retirement. To avoid re-
tirement planning nightmares, an investor should consider working with
a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC®). A chartered re-
tirement planning counselor is the architect who will guide you to create
a retirement blueprint for what your retirement plan should consist of.

In order to design the blueprint, however, there are many questions that
need to be answered BEFORE the design can be finalized. I call these
answers the MUST-KNOW FACTS of retirement planning. Here are a
few of the most important questions that you need to answer:

A. What matters to you the most in retirement?

We have to get really clear on what we want out of our retire-

ment years. Is travel a priority? Do you want to move closer to

your grandchildren? Is it ok to sell the McMansion and buy a

smaller house you can pay cash for and invest the difference?

to maintain their current lifestyle while having some assurances
