Minor Sharp Sixth Chords
The other type of minor sixth chord is formed by adding the sixth of the melodic minor scale (A B C D E F# G#) or
the Dorian mode (A B C D E F# G) to the minor chord. A minor A C E becomes A C E F#. This chord is quite close
to D7 (D F# A C) and a second inversion D7 (A D A C F#) where the open A string is deliberately strummed will
sound similar.
The minor sharp sixth has an angular quality because of the dissonant augmented 4th between C and F#, as is found
in the dominant seventh, but it is not as depressive as the minor sixth. It is slightly easier to find shapes for the
