MICA
India produces about 60 % mica of the world. Mika is found as sheets in igneous
and metamorphic rocks.
Three kinds of Mica -
- Ruby Mika—White mica 2. Muscovite Mica – light pink mica
- Biotite Mica – black or dark colored mica
Major Mica producing areas
- Jharkhand – Kodarma, Giridih and Hazaribag. Ruby Mica is found in Kodarma.
- Bihar - Nawada-Gaya area which is adjacent to Kodarma.
- Andhra Pradesh -- Nellore, Vishakhapatnam and Krishna districts.
- Rajasthan - Jipur, Udaipur, and Bhilwara districts.
