Created by rivers of Himalayas –Ganga,
Yamuna ,Brahmaputra ,The kosi etc
Peninsular rivers like Son, Chambal etc.


The Plains are Further Divided into Four
Parts :


Bhabar: The Bhabar lies along the foothills
of the Shiwaliks with a remarkable
continuity from Indus to Teesta.



  • Porous and Pebbled Plain it has been
    created by the deposition of granules
    and pebbles brought by the rivers
    descending from the Himalayans.

  • Alluvial fan of the Shiwaliks.
