idea.Thereasonthattheycitedwasthattheeconomicelementshadbeen
theprincipalruleof literatureaswellasotherarts.Thisismostsurely
unreal.Literatureisanemotionalstatethatisirrelevanttoanyeconomic
factor since its resource is man’s feelings and surrounding circum-
stances. The elegies of the morose emotional poetry that vibrates the
codesofspiritstoarousethewarmthofgriefanddolor,andthosepoems
thatcitepicturesofthisnatureanduniversalviewswerenotoriginated
bymaterialism.Onlythosewhohadnoideaofthefactualityofliterature
that is grounded on mere emotions and feelings, which are far away
from material influences; only those may declare such false opinions.
