Knowledge in the Quran
TheQuran praisesthe meritsof knowledgeandtheexaltation ofthe
scholars’ statuses in more than one Verse. God says:
Allah will exaltthose of you who believe, and thosewho are given
knowledgeinhighdegrees.Say:Arethosewhoknowandthosewhodo
not know alike?
Ask the followers of the Reminder if you do not know.
Nay! These are clear communications in the breast of those who are
granted knowledge.
Those of his servants only who are possessed of knowledge fear Allah.
Besides,manyQuranictextsindicatethegreatsignificanceofknowledge
andthevirtuesofthescholarswhoarethesourceofilluminationandthe
root of conception on this earth.
