Pondering Over the Creatures
Islam has encourages on looking upon the creatures, including the
plants. God has given each plant an exclusive quality, arranged it so
aptlythatitabsorbsonlythemattersitneedsformaturity,andprepared
it for the purpose of creation. God says:
Thenlet manlooktohis food.Wepourdown thewater,pouring it
downinabundance.Thenwecleavetheearth,cleavingitasunder.Then
wecausetogrowthereinthegrainandgrapesandcloverandtheolive
andthepalmandthickgardensandfruitandherbage.Aprovision for
you and for your cattle.
Andasigntothemisthedeadearth;wegivelifetoitandbringforth
fromitgrainssotheyeat ofit.Andwemakethereingardensof palms
andgrapevines,andwemakespringstoflowforthinto.Thattheymay
ear of the fruitsthereof andtheir handsdid not makeit; willthey not
then be grateful.
Heitiswhosendsdownwaterfromthecloudforyou;itgivesdrink,
andbyitgrowthetreesuponwhichyoupasture.Hecausedtogrowfor
youtherebyherbage,andtheolives,andthepalmtrees,andthegrapes,
andofallthefruits.Mostsurely,thereisasigninthisforapeoplewho
reflect.
Ifmanlooksdeeplyuponthecreationofanimalswiththeircountless
classesandremarkablemaking,hewillcertainlybelieveinGod.Newton
says,“How werethe bodiesofthese animalscomposed insucha gor-
geouscreation?Whatforweretheirnumerouspartsdesigned?Howisit
rational to believe that eyes and ears are originated without full ac-
quaintancewiththeoriginsofsightandauditionlaws?Howarethean-
imal’smovementsrenewedintentionally?Whatisthesourceofthisnat-
ural familiarity of these animals?
Thesecreatures,alongwiththeirmostsplendidandperfectformation,
refertotheexistenceofanincorporealgod. Thisgodshouldbeeverliv-
ingandwiseandexistentin everyplace,andshouldbe realizedbythe
factuality of everything.”.
TheholyQuraninvitesmantolookdeeplyinthestrikingcreationof
animals. God says:
Dotheynotseethebirds,constrainedinthemiddleofthesky?None
withholdsthembutAllah;mostsurelytherearesignsinthisforapeople
who believe.
Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created?
