Necessity of Sincerity
Sincerityistheindividualcomponentandthegenuineaffaironwhich
thesystemsandequanimityoftheculturalandeconomiclifedepend.In-
ternational economyis managedbytruthful transactions.National and
individualcapitals,banks,andcommerceareproceedingonthelightof
sincerityandfactualitythatarewithinthepeculiarelementsofthetrans-
actionalprocessesandeffects.Sincerityisthe pivotofthe international
economicmovement.Itisimpossibleforthefraudulentandduplicitous
economic movements to develop.
Sincerity is a basic component in the cultural life, too. Culture is
groundeduponthemethodoffactualityandsincerity.Itwillbevainand
meaningless if students and teachers are untruthful in their tests,
courses, and lessons.
Thesamethingcanbesaidaboutthepoliticallife.Policyisbeingcon-
tinuousandvalidonlywhenitisfixeduponsincerity.Insincerepolicy
willeventually fail. The best example in thisregard is the behaviorof
ImamAli,thepioneeroftherightandjusticeonthisearth,totheKhar-
ijitesaftertheyhaddiscoveredMuawiya’sfraudulenceinthequestionof
thearbitration.TheyinsistedondemandingtheImamwithdeclaringthe
repentance from (the guilt)of accepting the arbitration. The Imam de-
clinedsincehehadoriginallynotcommittedanyguilt.Theyperpetrated
that guilt. Hadthe Imam accepted their demand,he would havebeen
savedagainstthemutinyofhisarmy.Herejectedthepoliticallifethatis
baseduponfabrication,cheating,andfraudulence.Hepursuedthecom-
pletely soundpath.Similarly,had the Imam kept abreast with Abdur-
rahman bin Awf, who specified pursuing God’s Book, the Prophet’s
practice,andway oftheSheiks–AbuBakrandOmar-,asthecondition
ofholdingthepositionofleadershipafterthedeathofOmarbinal-Khat-
tab. Had the Imam accepted that condition, he would have saved the
IslamicnationfromOthmanbinAffan,thechiefoftheUmayyads—the
realfoesofIslam.TheImam,however,insistedonveracitydisregarding
theresults.HepreferredGod’ssatisfactiontoeverything.Thus,herejec-
tedtopursuethecourse ofthetwoSheiksandinsistedonthe factthat
the Islamic policy and management should be grounded upon God’s
glorious Book and the Prophet’s practices.
