Honesty

Honestyisoneofthefirmestpillarsonwhichthesoundsocietyrests.
Itistheguidetoallof thevirtuesandmoralities,andcomprisesGod’s
rights,includingprecepts,obligations,andtheabandonmentofillegalit-
ies.Italsocontainstherespectofthepublics’rightsbypreventingfrom
using the deposits, cheating, defrauding in measures, and pursuing
people’sflaws.People’srightsareguidingthem,testifying,andconvey-
ingthemissionscompletelyinadditiontomanyothers.Godorderedof
fulfilling the trusts to their owners. God says:
Surely, Allah commands you to make over trusts to their owners.
He also reckons honesty with the qualities of the pious believers. He
said:
And those who are keepers of their trusts and their covenant...
TheProphet (s)said,“Honesty bringssubsistence.Dishonestybrings
poverty.”
Adviceisasortofhonesty.Infact,theseekersofadviceentrustthead-
visers.”“The individualsthat areaskedforadvice areentrusted.Those
whoareaskedforanadviceshouldprovidethebestasiftheywerethe
doersofthatact.”“He,whoeveradvisesofamatterotherthantheaccur-
ate, is defrauding the seeker.”
Likewise,keepingtheothers’secretsisasortofhonesty.People,who
unveiltheirsecretsbeforeothers,shouldtrustoneanotherbecausethey
havepresumedeachotherwithoutanyformofconcernorcare.Bothare
warnedagainstdeceivingthroughconveyingthesecrets.TheProphet(s)
said,“ThetwoassociatescommunicateeachotherbythetrustofGod.It
is illegal for them to unveil the secrets.”
TheProphet(s)affirmedthatthesafetyandcontinuanceofthisnation
iskeptonlywhenpeoplecarefortheirtrusts,applyittothe factuality,
andtakeitoutoftheirbenefits.He said,“Mynationisstillsecuredas
longaspeopledonotregardthetrustsasprofitsandthealmsgivingas
debts.”
