Chapter 66

PROHIBITION OF COPULATING WITH THE

MENSTRUOUS

Islam has forbidden copulating with the menstruous for avoiding
many diseases. God says:
Andtheyaskyouaboutmenstruation.Say:Itisapollution;therefore,
keepalooffromthewomenduringthemenstrualdischargeanddonot
go near them until they have become clean.
Modernclinicalstudieshaveproventhatcopulationwiththemenstru-
ousinjuresthehealthofthe spouses.Thisisbecausethebloodof men-
struationcontainsvariousmicrobesandgermsthatcauseinflammation.
Thewomen’sinternalmembranescongestduringthemenstruation.Any
copulationmayrupturethesemembranesandcausetheinfectionofthe
microbes to spreadto otherplaces, effectingwomen’s health. Inmany
cases, such copulation may cause nervous disorders..
