Social Unity
ThemissionoftheIslamicnationaleducationismakingtheindividu-
alsfeelthattheyformunitywiththesociety.Italsoencourageshurling
consciouslyandsincerelyforachievingothers’pleasureandsavingthem
frommisfortunes.ThisistheimplicationoftheProphet’ssaying,“Take
tootherswhateveryouliketoyourselves,andguardothersagainstwhat
you guard yourselves against.”
Societieswillbe debilitatedandbaselessandnotdeservedignityand
lifeif the individuals work exclusively for themselves and ignoreany
sortof socialreaction. Islamhas workeddeliberatelyforeducating the
societybrightlybycancelingthesocialclassesandprivilegesandmaking
allMuslims represent one bodythat ifanorgan is afflicted,the others
stayupandsufferforit.Unityandcongruitybringthesocialindulgence
and guarantee dignity and interests.
Islamhasconstitutedthe Islamicunityongroundsof fraternity.This
unitycompriseshugeenergiesthatsupplytheIslamiccommunityofun-
derstanding,altruism,andcooperationandcreateauniquemodelofso-
cialsolidarity.Italsoblocksthewaybeforetheenemiesandrivals,such
as the snakes of greed and imperialism.
TheIslamicfraternityismorethananextrinsicemotion.Itisasecure
relationlying inthe minds to provokeon participatingin welfare and
adversity.TheProphet(s)declaredoftentimesthisfraternalrelation.He,
once,interrogatedthemanwhocamelateafterhehadsenthiminamis-
sion.Themancitedthewantofclothesashisapology.“Yourneighbor
has two dresses that he might borrow youone,” said the Prophet (s).
“Yes,”averredtheman,“Thisistrue.”TheProphetwasdepressedwhen
he said, “Your neighbor does not represent the fraternity of Islam.”
Imam as-Sadiq (a)said, “AMuslim isthe brother of Muslims.Heis
theireye,mirror,andguide.Heshouldnotbetray,wrong,cheat,belie,or
backbite them.”
Imamal-Baqir(a)said,“Afaithfulbelieveristhebrotherofthebeliev-
ers. He should not revile, deject, or mistrust them.”
IslamhasconstructedtheIslamicfraternityondeepbasesthataresim-
ilartothe naturalbrotherhoodin strengthandstatus.It hasalsolegis-
latedthe mostsplendid coursesthat achievethecoalescenceof powers
and warn against the factors of discrepancy and disassembly.
