Islamhas deniedrigid inconsistencybecauseitcreatesMuslims’ op-
position andruptureof relations.Imam al-Baqir(a)said, “Hewhoever
refrainsfromsupportinghisbrotherwillsurely beundergoneanactof
settlinganeedduetowhichheissinned.”ImamMusa(a)said,“Hethat
refrains from providing the help that a Muslim asks for, is rupturing
God’s loyalty.”
Imamas-Sadiq(a)askedhiscompanions,“Whatfordoyoudisparage
us?”AmanfromKhorasananswered,“Godforbid!Weneverdisparage
youoranyofyouraffairs.”TheImamsaidtotheman,“Youwereoneof
thosewhodisparagedus.”Themanwasastonishedandhorrified, and
soughtGod’sprotectionagainstdisparagingthe Imams.The Imam ex-
posed,“Youheardthetiredmanwhosoughtyoursupport,butyoudis-
paragedhim.Hewhoeverdisparagesabelieverissurelydisparagingus
and violating God’s sanctuary.”.
