Injury and Disgracing
IslamhasforbiddeninjuringanddisgracinganyMuslim,becausesuch
actsinfringetheMuslims’unionandcongruity.Besides,theyaresortsof
wronging and aggression that Islam has forbidden. The holy Quran
refers to this prohibition. God says,
And those who ‘hurt’ the believing men and the believing women
withouttheirhavingearnedit,theyareguiltyindeedof afalseaccusa-
tion and manifest sin.
TheProphet (s)said,“Godthe Elevatedsays:He thathumiliatesMy
faithfulslaveiscollidingMe.” “Itis illicitforMuslims torefer totheir
brothers by injurious look.”
Imamas-Sadiq (a)said,“Forthose whodisgraceandhumiliateabe-
liever for his weakness or poverty, God will shame them before the
creaturesontheResurrectionDay.”“Forthosewhohumiliateabeliever,
whether poor or not, God willbe humiliatingand abhorringthem till
they retreat their humiliation.”.
Humiliationandinjuryarethequalitiesofthesinfulthatareunfaith-
fulinthehumanstandardsandtheelevatedidealities.Islamhasantag-
onized this quality because it ruptures the bonds of amiability and
Muslims’ fraternity.
