CHARACTERISTICS OF SOCIAL EDUCATION


Weshouldexposeabriefpictureof the characteristicsofthe Islamic
social education, yet we have previously referred to some aspects.
-Muslims should stay away from the conceptual discrepancies, and
eliminatefanaticism. The latter is the mostimportant obligation, espe-
ciallyinthisageinwhichtheIslamicworldispassingthroughthemost
decisivestageofitshistory.Thus,itisobligatorytounitebeforethehar-
rowinghurricanesandthe torrentialmisfortunes.Itis highlyconsider-
abletocitethefactthatIslamhasantagonizedfanaticismandcalledfor
leniency with people of the other heavenly religions. God says:
Say: O, followers of the Book! Come to an equitable proposition
betweenus andyouthatweshall notserveanybutAllah andthatwe
shall not associate aught with Him.
Allah doesnot forbidyou respectingthose who havenot madewar
againstyouonaccountof yourreligion,andhavenotdrivenyouforth
from your homes, that you show them kindness and deal with them
justly. Surely, Allahloves the doers of justice.
TheProphet (s) situatedtheprincipalsandrulesof thisleniency.He
said,“OntheResurrectionDay,Iwillbethelitigant againstthosewho
wrong, revile,overtax, or seize an ally –a non-Muslimindividual that
confederates Muslims-.”
TheProphetdidnotcoerceanyJeworChristianonleavingtheirreli-
gions.HealsoorderedthegovernorofYemenofthismatter.Themaster
churchmendeclaredthisgenuinespiritandgreatmoralityofIslam.Pat-
riarchEsauYamshuMayayasaid,“WhentheLordenabledthemtopre-
vailonthisworld,theArabstreatedusjustly,asyouknow.Theyhave
notbeentheenemiesofChristianity.Onthecontrary,theyhavepraised
ourreligion,respectedoursanctuaries,andaidedourchurches andab-
beys.”.Sir ThomasArnoldsays, “Thevictorious ArabMuslims treated
theChristianswithgreatleniencesincethefirstcentury–ofhegira-.This
