dren’sminds.Throughfamilies,children acquiretheirlanguage,values
andtrends.Familiescontributeddirectlyintheconstructionofmankind
civilizationandtheassociativerelationsofpeople.Itledmantolearnthe
principalsofsociologyandtherulesofethicsandmoralities.Itisalsothe
reason beyond the maintenance of many professions and career that
fatherstransferto sons.Itisstrangetonoticethat Plato’sRepublicthat
glorifiedtherolesofthe governmentsdeniedtherolesoffamilies. This
denialledtothebeliefthatfamiliesstoodasobstaclesinthefaceofthe
allegianceandloyaltytothegovernment.ForPlato,home,whichenjoys
a greatvalue, is no more than a curse and an evil. Plato shouted out
“Destroythosewallsthatcontainnothingbutalimitedfeelingofthedo-
mestic life.” On the other side, one of our proverbs is that “A man’s
house is his secure fortress.”.
